Basic Corporate Relations Training
Tapping the Corporate Dollar 2008
Today is an exciting time in business for both nonprofit organizations and for-profit companies. Social causes are getting a great deal of media attention as consumers are demanding companies take an interest in the welfare of society. Research shows that consumers want to purchase from companies that care about their causes. Meanwhile, companies are regularly looking for unique ways to reach new markets, become more profitable and make an impact in communities. Supporting nonprofit missions provides a way for companies to meet these needs. Consumers’ heightened interest in social causes has provided a greater opportunity for collaboration between nonprofits and for-profits, helping companies expand markets and reach more consumers while supporting nonprofit organizations and their causes.
Tapping the Corporate Dollar 2008 is intended to introduce nonprofit and for-profit professionals to the world of mutual benefit through nonprofit/for-profit collaborations and help them find their organization's place in that world. During this session the audience will: develop an understanding of what drives both entities; examine examples of successful, mutually beneficial collaborations; identify principles that made the collaborations successful; and participate in a practical exercise to better understand how to use these principles toward their success.
Encouraged to attend the session are nonprofit development professionals; nonprofit managers; nonprofit consultants; marketing professionals; public affairs staff; corporate community relations professionals; other corporate managers.
